Day 1 - From Munich into the Heart of Bavaria
Meet our Tour Manager early this morning and join your fellow travelers for a spectacular drive into the Bavarian Alps, one of the most scenic regions in all of Europe. Your destination this morning is the spectacular Alpine resort region of Berchtesgaden.

Certain to be one of your most unforgettable travel experiences ever, you’ll embark on a breathtaking drive that climbs nearly 2,000 feet in less than 4 miles. Carved into the solid rock face of a soaring 6,000 foot Alpine peak, with only one switchback, this seemingly impossible road was built in only 13 months between 1937 and 1939. After this thrilling ride in specially-built panoramic coaches, a gleaming brass elevator transports you up a mountain shaft to the Eagle’s Nest, the infamous teahouse built for Adolf Hitler’s 50th birthday. Perched on a mountain summit, its construction was an engineering marvel and the views from here are truly breathtaking

For lunch, we’ve arranged for you to dine at the InterContinental Berchtesgaden Resort, a striking contemporary retreat with superb views of the surrounding forested peaks. You’ll continue along the famed Alpine Road toward Oberammergau where you check-in to your inviting hotel, the Schillingshof or Ludwig der Bayer Hotel. A fine Bavarian dinner and a peaceful overnight await you here in this charming mountain region. (L,D)

Day 2 - Oberammergau & the Passion Play
This morning, you enjoy a guided stroll through the enchanting village of Oberammergau, set in a picturesque Alpine valley in the shadow of towering peaks. Learn more about the fascinating history and traditions of this centuries-old town at the Oberammergau Museum, and delight in its colorfully painted homes. Along the way, charming shops reveal the woodcarving skills of many town residents, whose families have perfected this craft over the past 800 years. Following lunch, you’ll be escorted to the historic Passion Play Theater where center orchestra seats have been reserved for our party. Extensively renovated for the Millennium, this impressive venue offers theater-style seating and a heated floor, ensuring our comfort as 2,000 actors take to the open-air stage, framed by a natural backdrop of spectacular Alpine scenery. The once-in-a-lifetime Passion Play is presented in two parts, including dinner in-town during intermission. You’ll be escorted back to your hotel following the performance. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Oberammergau / Munich
After breakfast this morning, you’ll be escorted by deluxe motorcoach to the Munich airport or rail station for your onward journey. (B)
