DAY 1 DEPART USA
Board your overnight transatlantic flight.

DAY 2 ARRIVE IN VIENNA, AUSTRIA
After checking in, there is time to relax before meeting your Tour Director for a Welcome Drink.

DAY 3 VIENNA
A guided tour features the monuments and palaces of this musical city. The Imperial Boulevards lead to the State Opera House, the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Then, a walking tour takes you into the oldest parts of the city. (B,D)

DAY 4 VIENNA WOODS EXCURSION
Journey into the scenic Vienna Woods on a tour to see Mayerling and the hunting lodge where Crown Prince Rudolf and his young mistress died in 1898. There is also a stop to visit the Abbey of the Holy Cross before returning to Vienna, where the balance of the day is free. (B)

DAY 5 VIENNA / SALZBURG
Travel west via the Danube Valley, passing Austria’s greatest baroque monastery, Melk Abbey. Upon arrival in Salzburg, a guided walking tour highlights the cathedral, the birthplace of Mozart and some locations used in the film The Sound of Music. Then there is free time to explore on your own or relax in one of the cozy coffee houses. (B)

DAY 6 SALZBURG / BERCHTESGADEN / INNSBRUCK / OBERAMMERGAU, GERMANY
First, stop in the town of Berchtesgaden then on to the Tyrolean capital, Innsbruck. An orientation tour includes the Wilten Basilica, the Olympic ski-jump and a hidden treasure, before continuing to the charming town of Oberammergau. (B,D)

DAY 7 OBERAMMERGAU
This morning there is time at leisure to stroll through this picturesque village. After lunch, take your seat for the moving Passion Play. The performance starts at 2:30 p.m., running until 5:00 p.m., breaks for dinner, then resumes at 8:00 p.m., ending about 10:30 p.m. (B,L,D)

DAY 8 OBERAMMERGAU / NEUSCHWANSTEIN / MUNICH
This morning visit the most famous creation of mad King Ludwig, fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle. Later, drive to the Bavarian capital, Munich. (B)

DAY 9 MUNICH ORIENTATION
On an orientation drive, see Marienplatz with its Glockenspiel, the Hofbrauhaus and more. The afternoon is free. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner. (B,D)

DAY 10 DEPART MUNICH
Airport transfers are available, conditions apply. (B)
