DAY 1 DEPART USA
Board your overnight transatlantic flight.
DAY 2 ARRIVE IN LONDON, ENGLAND
After checking in at your hotel, there is time at leisure. You can begin exploring the British capital on your own, or simply relax after your flight in a friendly pub.
DAY 3 LONDON SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE
On a morning tour you will see many of the major city sights. Your afternoon and evening are free for more exploration or shopping. Tonight, you might want to take in an entertaining West End show. (B)
DAY 4 LONDON / BRUGES, BELGIUM / BRUSSELS
Meet your Tour Director and head to Dover to cross the Channel. Coach to medieval Bruges, then continue to Brussels to see the Atomium, little Manneken Pis and a hidden treasure. Tonight, join your Tour Director and fellow traveling companions for a Welcome Drink. (B)
DAY 5 BRUSSELS / HEIDELBERG, GERMANY / RHINELAND
Travel from Belgium into Germany, and on to Cologne. See the magnificient gothic cathedral with its towering spires. Next, enjoy a scenic Rhine cruise. Disembark and coach to see Heidelberg’s red-walled castle.Then continue to your hotel. (B,D)
DAY 6 RHINELAND / OBERAMMERGAU
Your first stop this morning is in Munich to see the Olympic Stadium and Marienplatz. Then continue on to Oberammergau. You might want to stroll through the town tonight, admiring the colorful paintings on many of the local homes and buildings. (B,D)
DAY 7 OBERAMMERGAU
This morning there is time at leisure in this picturesque village. After lunch, take your seat for the poignant Passion Play. The performance starts at 2:30 p.m., running until 5:00 p.m., breaks for dinner, then resumes at 8:00 p.m., ending about 10:30 p.m. (B,L,D)
DAY 8 OBERAMMERGAU / INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA / VENICE, ITALY
Travel into Austria and on to Innsbruck, known for the Golden Roof. Then journey to the romantic city of Venice. A sightseeing tour here includes a ride on a private launch to St. Marks Square and a glassblowing demonstration. (B,D)
DAY 9 VENICE / ROME
Leaving Venice, head south through the Po Valley and the Apennine Mountains as you travel to the city of Rome. Your evening is free to relax and people watch in a café or restaurant. (B)
DAY 10 ROME SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE
On guided morning tour, visit St. Peter’s Basilica and see the Forum and Colosseum. The balance of the day is free to see more of the “Eternal City” on your own, visit a museum or shop. (B)
DAY 11 ROME / FLORENCE
Travel through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to elegant Florence. Here, a guided tour includes the cathedral, baptistery and a hidden treasure. Then there is time for shopping or to perhaps visit a museum before dinner. (B,D)
DAY 12 FLORENCE / PISA / MONACO / NICE, FRANCE
Head to Pisa to see the remarkable Leaning Tower in the Square of Miracles. Continue on to visit Monaco and see one of the famous Monte Carlo casinos, before driving on to bustling Nice. Your evening is at leisure. (B)
DAY 13 ST. PAUL DE VENCE EXCURSION
A morning excursion takes you to hilltop St. Paul de Vence. After time to stroll through the art galleries and handicraft shops, your next stop is at the Fragonard Perfumery. The balance of the day is free time to relax, browse through the shops or take a walk along the Promenade des Anglais. (BB)
DAY 14 NICE / LAKE MAGGIORE, ITALY / ZERMATT, SWITZERLAND
On your journey towards Switzerland, travel through Italy and stop in Stresa on Lake Maggiore. Then on to Tasch and take an electric minibus to Zermatt. This exclusive, traffic-free resort is overlooked by the majestic Matterhorn. (B,D)
DAY 15 ZERMATT / GENEVA
Depart Zermatt and coach to Geneva, set in the heart of central Europe. See the UN Building and the Jet d’Eau, a spectacular 400-foot geyser, on an orientation tour. (B,D)
DAY 16 GENEVA / PARIS, FRANCE
Cross the border into France, and traverse the wine-producing region of Burgundy., Pass Savigny-Les-Beaune’s vineyards, and continue to the lively city of Paris. Your evening here is free to begin exploring on your own, sample the exciting nightlife, or perhaps take in a dazzling show. (B)
DAY 17 PARIS SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE
See the Place de la Concorde, the Eiffel Tower and more city highlights on a morning tour. The afternoon is at leisure to do some last minute shopping, enjoy a delicious pastry or two, or simply enjoy one last afternoon of relaxation.
