DAY 1 DEPART USA
Board your overnight transatlantic flight.

DAY 2 ARRIVE IN FRANKFURT, GERMANY
Welcome to Germany! After checking in at the hotel, join your Tour Director for a late afternoon orientation tour which explores the financial center and medieval Romerplatz. Later enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director and fellow travellers.

DAY 3 FRANKFURT / RHINE / COLOGNE
This morning, take a scenic Rhine cruise, passing quaint riverside towns and terraced vineyards, from St.Goar to Boppard. Disembark and continue to Cologne, where an orientation tour includes views of the gothic cathedral with its twin towers. (B)

DAY 4 COLOGNE / HAMBURG
Drive through Lower Saxony to Hamburg. An orientation tour of this great Hanseatic port shows you the major points of interest, including inner Alster Lake. Later, perhaps take an optional harbour cruise before dinner in the hotel. (B,D)

DAY 5 HAMBURG / BERLIN
Follow the Elbe valley and cross the former ‘Iron Curtain’ to reach Germany’s unified capital city of Berlin. Once a divided city but no longer since the fall of the infamous Berlin Wall in 1989, your afternoon and evening are at leisure to explore on your own. (B)

DAY 6 BERLIN SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE
A sightseeing tour features East and West highlights, including the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden Boulevard, the German State Opera House, Tiergarten, the Reichstag Building and the shopping and entertainment district of Kurfurstendamm. Then there is free time to explore this vibrant city on your own. (B)

DAY 7 BERLIN / BAYREUTH / WURZBURG
Travel past Potsdam and Leipzig into former Western Germany before reaching Bayreuth, home of the annual Wagner Festival. Later, in Wurzburg, see the Marienburg Fortress, Prince-Bishops’ Residence with its beautiful gardens and a special hidden treasure q is revealed! (B,D)

DAY 8 WURZBURG / ROTHENBURG / MUNICH / OBERAMMERGAU
Journey via the Romantic Road to picturesque Rothenburg for a walking tour. Travel on to the Bavarian capital, Munich, where an orientation drive includes the Olympic Stadium and Marienplatz. Then continue to charming Oberammergau. (B,D)

DAY 9 OBERAMMERGAU
This morning is at leisure. After lunch, take your seat for the awe-inspiring Passion Play. The performance starts at 2:30 p.m., running until 5:00 p.m., breaks for dinner, then resumes at 8:00 p.m., ending about 10:30 p.m. (B,L,D)

DAY 10 OBERAMMERGAU / SALZBURG, AUSTRIA / VIENNA
Travel to Salzburg, where a guided walking tour explores the city featured in The Sound of Music and renowned as Mozart’s birthplace. Then follow the Danube Valley to the Austrian capital, Vienna. (B)

DAY 11 VIENNA SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE
A guided tour features views of the Opera House and the Parliament and also includes a walking tour of the oldest part of the city. Later there is time to visit the Prater Park or enjoy a concert of Strauss music (both own expense). (B)

DAY 12 VIENNA / INNSBRUCK
travel via the Salzkammergut to the Tyrolean capital, Innsbruck. Here your Tour Director shows you the Golden Roof, the Hofburg Palace and another hidden treasure q! Later, enjoy a Highlight dinner of Tyrolean specialities in a local restaurant. (B,D)

DAY 13 INNSBRUCK / NEUSCHWANSTEIN, GERMANY / FREIBURG
This morning a scenic drive includes views of mad King Ludwig’s fairytale castle, Neuschwanstein. Then drive around Lake Constance to the wooded hills of the Black Forest and the university town of Freiburg where an orientation tour includes the cathedral in the main square. (B,D)

DAY 14 FREIBURG / HEIDELBERG / FRANKFURT
Travel north to the university city of Student Prince fame, Heidelberg. Enjoy a walk through the castle courtyards for wonderful views over the city and the River Neckar. Then drive through Rhineland back to Frankfurt. Tonight, savor a celebratory Farewell Dinner with your Tour Director and traveling companions. (B,D)

DAY 15 DEPART FRANKFURT
This morning, bid farewell to your Tour Director and newfound friends. Airport transfers are available, conditions apply. (B)
